Piet Tuytel heeft altijd gefotografeerd bij het werk, maar vaak ook buiten het atelier om een situatie in de ruimte vast te leggen. Veelal constellaties met een tijdelijke uitstraling, altijd 3D. Zo ook de foto voor deze zeefdruk. Uitgebloeide cactussen in een kom, achteloos in een hoek van de tuin. Achteloos… tot de foto deze ruimte isoleert. In de afdruk is het beeld gekanteld en er is kleur in aangebracht, blauw en geel. Deze afbeelding is daarna gecollageerd met stroken gekleurd vinyl. De herkenbare ruimtelijke ordening krijgt hierdoor een nieuwe dimensie. Een nieuwe voorstelling die nooit heeft bestaan met een nieuwe identiteit.

Piet Tuytel is altijd geïnteresseerd in ruimte, in welke dimensie dan ook. Hij zegt daarover: Je verkeert er je hele leven in. Meenemen kan je het niet, erover denken wel. Het kent vele gezichten, maar heeft geen identiteit - totdat er een activiteit in/om plaatsvindt. Vanuit uiteenlopende beeldende disciplines heb ik dit fascinerende aspect benaderd en verwerkt. Hoofdzakelijk in 3 dimensies, uitgevoerd in zeer uiteenlopende materialen. Thermopane glas, metalen, kunststof, hout, plastic en gebruiksvoorwerpen. Gestart met assemblages van sloopmateriaal, veelal grauw van kleur en grof van vorm. Uiteindelijk komend tot heldere, eenvoudige constructies in heldere kleuren, opgebouwd uit met bouten aan elkaar gekoppeld constructiestaal. Mijn objecten zijn altijd ontstaan door direct in 3D te werken. Nooit maak ik vooraf schetsen van de objecten, wel altijd foto’s tijdens het ontstaan.

Piet Tuytel has always photographed at work, but often also outside the studio to capture a situation in the room. Often constellations with a temporary appearance, always 3D. This also applies to the photo for this screen print. Faded cacti in a bowl, carelessly placed in a corner of the garden. Careless… until the photo isolates this space. In the print the image is tilted and color has been added, blue and yellow. This image is then collaged with strips of colored vinyl. This gives the recognizable spatial planning a new dimension. A new image that never existed with a new identity

Piet Tuytel is always interested in space, in any dimension. Hi says about this: You are in it your whole life. You can't take it with you, but you can think about it. It has many faces, but no identity- until an activity takes place in/around it. I have this fascinating aspect from various visual disciplines accessed and processed. Mainly in 3 dimensions, executed in very various materials. Thermopane glass, metal, plastic, wood, plastic, utensils, etc. Started with assemblies of demolition material, often gray in color and raw form. Ultimately arriving at clear, simple constructions in bright colors, constructed from structural steel linked together with bolts. My objects have always been created by working directly in 3D. I never make sketches of the objects in advance, always photos during the creation.
